  1. Bedlington Terriers are named after the mining town of Bedlington in North East London.
  2. They are a breed of terriers having their origin in Great Britain.
  3. Like any classic terrier they would be able to do anything that is asked of them.
  4. They are fairly small sized dogs growing to be around 43cm and weighing around 10kg.
  5. On an average they live to be around 16 years old.
  6. They are bold, confident, affectionate and playful domestic dogs.
  7. They are very active and intelligent and are known to be problem solvers.
  8. They are loyal family companions and make for excellent pet dogs.
  9. They are also known to be first rate water dogs and have been fast enough to bay a badger or a fox.
  10. Though they appear to be placid, they are great problem solvers when threatened.
  11. It is best to train them from a very early age because of their overactive nature.
