  2. They grow to an average size of 50cm and weigh around 32kg.
  3. On an average, they live to be around 10 years old.
  4. They are very loyal to their families and bond very closely with their master.
  5. They do not take to strangers immediately and reserve their affection only for their family members.
  6. This is a breed of dog most suited for experienced and strong-willed dog owners.
  7. Chow Chows have a keen sense of proprietorship over their home.
  8. Generally, opposite sex Chow Chows co-habitate with less tension than the same sex individuals.
  9. They need to be well-bred and well-socialized to not display timidity and aggression.
  10. Interestingly, many home-insurance companies don’t cover this breed because of their unpredictable reception of strangers.
  11. They need to be obedience trained from a very early age and should be socialized with other people and dogs.
