  2. They belong to the mastiff group of dogs.
  3. They grow to an average size of 68.5cm and weigh around 45kg.
  4. On an average, they live to be around 13 years old.
  5. Dogos are a result of selective breeding for a big game hunter.
  6. They are accomplished big-game hunters and are used for tracking, searching and rescue.
  7. They are also trained for narcotics detection, general police work and military.
  8. They are protective of their perceived territory and are known to guard it against intruders.
  9. If socialized from an early age, they may get along with other dogs but do not tolerate other dominant breeds.
  10. Aggression is not desirable in Dogos.
  11. They are extremely loyal and affectionate with their families and are known to crave their attention.
  12. They are also exceptionally tolerant of children because of their high pain tolerance.
  13. These qualities also make them suitable as family dogs.
