  1. Boston Terriers are small sized dogs, native to North America.
  2. They belong to the Mastiff family of dogs.
  3. They grow to an average size of 43cm and weigh around 11kg.
  4. On an average they live to be around 15 years old.
  5. They are well proportioned and compactly built with a wrinkle free muzzle.
  6. Their expression is indicative of high intelligence, with their erect ears and short tails.
  7. They were cross bred between, the now extinct, breeds of the Old English Bulldog and The English White terrier
  8. Interestingly, despite their name, they are not considered as Terriers by the American Kennel Club.
  9. They are very strong, friendly, lovable and make for unforgettable personalities.
  10. Their temper may vary from being stubborn to being eager to please.
  11. Although originally bred for fighting, they are now bred for companionship.
  12. Boston terriers are well mannered, expressive, gentle and alert in the modern day.
  13. They need to be trained from an early age patiently, by an assertive owner.
