  1. Bottle nosed dolphins are found all around the world inhabiting the warm seas.
  2. They are the most well-known and the most commonly found type of dolphin.
  3. They are often found in large groups ranging from 15 to 2000 in number.
  4. They are grey in color and are known to grow between 2m and 4m in length.
  5. They are one of the more intelligent animals along with the great apes and the humans.
  6. They are known to communicate through a series of clicking sounds, with other dolphins.
  7. They are quite calm and playful around humans and get along well with them.
  8. Interestingly, they have been trained by military forces to locate sea mines and marking enemy divers.
  9. They also help fishermen by driving fish towards the nets and by eating the fish that escape the net.
  10. Bottle Nosed Dolphins sometimes accidentally get killed while humans mass fish tuna.
  11. Though they are not aggressive by nature, when threatened, they intimidate their intruders through their pod size.
  12. They are omnivores feeding on fish, shrimp and squid.
  13. They have their natural predators in sharks and killer whales.
  14. On an average they live to be around 20-35 years old.
