  1. Siamese cats are one of the oldest breeds of cats in the world.
  2. It is believed that they have originated from modern day Thailand’s Siamese temple cats.
  3. They are quite similar to the Birman Cat.
  4. They were introduced to households in Europe and North America in the 1900s.
  5. Since then, they have been one of the most popular choice for exotic domestic cats.
  6. They are a breed of short haired cat which grow to an average size of 60cm.
  7. They live to be around 8-10 years in the wild and tend to live longer when looked after well in households.
  8. Despite this, they are prone to certain ailments and conditions.
  9. They are extremely intelligent and are known to learn fast, if they are taught tricks.
  10. They are very loyal and affectionate by nature.
  11. They tend to prefer humans to other cats and animals for companionship.
  12. They are also said to be very dependent on their human families.
  13. They are known to be extremely jealous and do not take well to other animals sharing their families’ attention.
  14. They tend to get destructive in order to gain attention.
