  1. The Epagneul Pont-Audemer is a rare and medium-sized dog originally from France.
  2. They have a curly coat which is brown but smooth around the face.
  3. Epagneul Pont-Audemer dogs are hard-working and tough but also gentle and affectionate.
  4. Having an excellent sense of smell, they were mainly used as setters on hunts.
  5. They were meant to be gundogs who help hunters in tracking and retrieving game.
  6. They weigh between 20 – 27 kgs and grow to heights of 50 – 60 cms.
  7. Their ruffled coats requires a fair bit of brushing and grooming to be well-maintained.
  8. Adept in water, these dogs are used for hunting wild ducks and also rabbits.
  9. The Epagneul Pont-Audemer can live for about 12 – 13 years approximately.
  10. They are easy to train, playful and friendly dogs which makes them well-loved.
  11. They are generally healthy and robust dogs but are known to develop alopecia.
  12. These dogs are not easily available, being difficult to find and hence expensive.
  13. These adventurous dogs love being outdoors and so might be unsuitable for apartment life.
  14. They are very adaptable, agile and can hunt in different terrains without any problems.
