  1. Bearded Dragons are found naturally in Australia.
  2. They are a type of lizard that inhabit arid forests and deserts.
  3. Distinctively, they have a pronounced beard when scared and they are able to morph their skin color.
  4. They grow up to 24 inches long, including the tail making them fairly small-sized for a lizard.
  5. Bearded dragons are kept as exotic pets in some places around the world.
  6. They are gentle and quiet by nature and thereby making them a popular choice for children’s pet.
  7. They are known to be curious and outgoing yet trusting and docile.
  8. They are solitary and territorial in nature and therefore need to be kept in fairly big enclosures, if kept as pets.
  9. They are omnivores feeding on leafy greens, insects, crickets and worms.
  10. They have their predators in birds, snakes and crocodiles.
  11. Like most other reptiles, they spend most of the day under the sun recharging themselves.
  12. They are more active during the nights than during the days.
  13. Interestingly, they undergo something very similar to hibernation by mammals, for 2-3 months.
  14. They tend to, not come out often, be lethargic and to eat less during this period.
