  1. Mules are a hybrid species resulting by mating a male donkey and a female horse.
  2. Mules are normal, anatomically, and show normal behavior when it comes to mating.
  3. However, mules are sterile as their chromosome count is uneven.
  4. There have been rare instance of the female mules giving birth but the males are always sterile.
  5. Mules are found wherever donkeys and horses have coexisted.
  6. Humans have bred mules for all the purposes, that a horse has been used for.
  7. Mules get their patience, sure footedness, endurance, drought tolerance and sense from the donkey.
  8. They get their courage, strength, speed and size from the horse.
  9. The additional advantage that a mule has over a horse s that it is better equipped to deal with extreme temperatures.
  10. A mule also needs less food and water than a similar sized horse.
  11. Mules also have better resistance against diseases and insects.
  12. The hooves of a mule are harder than the hooves of a horse.
  13. The temperament and type of bod greatly depends on the type of donkey and horse used to create the mule.
  14. Mules predominantly look like donkeys but differ from them in having a tail which looks like that of a horse.
