  1. The reindeers are found in the northern most parts of North America, Europe and Asia.
  2. They inhabit the Arctic Tundra and the North Pole.
  3. They are also known as the Caribou.
  4. They always move around in large herds.
  5. Their hooves adapt to the summers by becoming sponge-like and helps them walk in the soft and wet surface.
  6. During winters, the foot pads shrink exposing the rim of the hoof helping them move through the ice.
  7. The hooves also help the reindeer dig for lichen which is their favorite food.
  8. To keep them warm they have a thick wooly undercoat.
  9. They also have a longer -haired overcoat with hollow air- filled hair to keep them warm.
  10. They are only land mammals to migrate and travel a very long distance.
  11. They are very fast with their top speed reaching up to 50 mph.
  12. They migrate in huge herds of thousands of reindeers.
  13. The largest migration of reindeers happens during spring and autumn when they search for food.
  14. They do not make for an easy prey as they are very fast and move in huge numbers.
  15. Reindeers have their predators in Arctic Wolves, Polar Bears, Brown Bears and Humans.
