  1. Horned frogs are a species of frogs found in Argentina.
  2. There are mainly two species of horned frogs- The Argentine Horned Grog and the Cranwells Horned Frog.
  3. They are known to inhabit the wetlands of Argentina.
  4. The Argentine Horned frog is also known as the Wide-mouthed frog or the Pacman Frog
  5. They get their name as Pacman frogs because of their close resemblance to the Pacman video game characters.
  6. They are the more commonly found of the two horned frog species.
  7. They are found throughout Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina, today.
  8. Interestingly, they have a reputation of being voracious eaters and are quite greedy with their choice of prey.
  9. They try to swallow anything that moves near their mouth.
  10. They prey on insects, lizards, other frogs, small birds and mammals.
  11. The Cranwells horned frogs are difficult to find naturally except in Argentina.
  12. They are a very popular choice as exotic pets in North America.
  13. Their adaptability and hardy nature makes them easy-to-look-after exotic pets.
  14. The horned frogs have their natural predators in Birds, bears and snakes.
  15. In the wild, they live to be around 5-8 years old, on an average.
